Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sherk Alvares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Jacobs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jacobs has chosen Come Out Swinging as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sherk Alvares! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mark Jacobs! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Felipe Paraventi and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jacobs lands a jab-cross combination. A big head kick from Jacobs and Alvares is sent sprawling to the canvas!
Alvares is rocked! Alvares wants to sweep but no luck. Oh Alvares is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Jacobs really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alvares. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Alvares trying to control the position.
Alvares seems to have got his legs back now. Jacobs wants to pass the guard but Alvares is keeping the position. Jacobs wants to control from the top but Alvares keeps moving. Alvares is pulling down on Jacobs's head to control his posture. Jacobs stopping the sweep attempt from Alvares. Alvares throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's one minute gone in the round. Jacobs gets to his feet. Alvares looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Alvares fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Alvares shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jacobs but Jacobs pushes him off and we're back to square one. Jacobs blocks a jab. Alvares closes the distance and clinches up with Jacobs, looking for a takedown. Alvares pushes Jacobs against the cage but Jacobs circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sherk Alvares. That's going to take a lot out of him. Alvares is breathing heavily. Jacobs lets loose with a powerful body kick. Alvares will feel that in the morning. Jacobs drops Alvares with a right and a left! Jacobs comes rushing in but Alvares regains his composure and manages to keep Jacobs in guard.
It looks like Sherk Alvares has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! There's a bit of a scramble here and now Alvares is on top in guard.

Jacobs is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Alvares drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Alvares jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alvares scoring with punches to the head and body. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Alvares is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Jacobs avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Alvares has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Alvares throws a big right hand that misses. Jacobs throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Alvares decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jacobs, up you get! Alvares shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jacobs pinned against the cage. Jacobs gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Jacobs stuffs the takedown attempt from Alvares. Alvares gets slowly back to his feet. Alvares misses with a takedown attempt - Jacobs sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alvares fails with an attempt to clinch.

Jacobs paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Alvares jabbing away but nothing is landing. Alvares shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jacobs but Jacobs pushes him off and we're back to square one. Alvares needs to keep his hands up - Jacobs had a free shot at his head there. Alvares scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Alvares is working for a kimura but Jacobs is defending it quite comfortably.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Alvares decides to stand up. Alvares changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jacobs tries to avoid it but Alvares manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jacobs to the ground. Jacobs escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jacobs lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Alvares sprawling to the canvas. Jacobs follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Alvares hang on? The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Alvares gets back to full guard.
Alvares looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jacobs is one step ahead there. Jacobs thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Jacobs stands up from Alvares's guard - Jacobs perhaps looking for a knockout. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Alvares stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Jacobs. Jacobs throws a series of punches but Alvares moves out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alvares rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Jacobs finish him?!
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Jacobs throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Alvares crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
