Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between William Dodson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, William Dodson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Emelianenko! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Valeri Chadov and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dodson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Emelianenko avoids it really well and circles away. Emelianenko throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Sloppy strikes from Emelianenko. Those never looked like landing. Emelianenko tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Dodson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Emelianenko but Emelianenko pushes him off and we're back to square one. Emelianenko is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Emelianenko stuffs the takedown attempt from Dodson. Dodson gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for William Dodson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Emelianenko fails with an attempt to clinch.
Emelianenko throws a push kick but Dodson slaps the foot to one side.

Dodson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Emelianenko can pounce on him.
Emelianenko wants to clinch up but Dodson keeps it at a distance. Emelianenko forces Dodson back against the cage and clinches. Emelianenko's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Emelianenko throws a head kick that misses. Emelianenko swats away the attempt to clinch by Dodson. Emelianenko tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dodson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Emelianenko shoots in and gets a takedown into Dodson's guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Emelianenko controlling from the top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Dodson is proving hard to escape from. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ivan Emelianenko has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Emelianenko is looking to clinch but Dodson is avoiding it.

Dodson gets tackled into the cage by Emelianenko. Emelianenko maintains the clinch. Emelianenko tries to circle away but Dodson has him pinned against the cage. Emelianenko has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Dodson regains guard immediately. Dodson looking for a guillotine here but Emelianenko defends easily.
Emelianenko must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Dodson is looking for a triangle but Emelianenko pushes his legs off easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Emelianenko engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Emelianenko trying to stand up but can't free himself from Dodson's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Emelianenko moves into range and clinches up with Dodson. Dodson stalls. Emelianenko's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Emelianenko blocks a head kick by Dodson.
Dodson shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Dodson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Emelianenko quickly recovers to half guard. Dodson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Emelianenko does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Emelianenko is trying to stand up here but Dodson is controlling him well.

Emelianenko tries to avoid it but Dodson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Emelianenko to the ground. Emelianenko escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Emelianenko throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Emelianenko tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dodson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Dodson shoots and misses and Emelianenko counters with a nice uppercut. Dodson shoots in and gets a takedown into Emelianenko's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko wants to get back to his feet but Dodson is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Dodson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Emelianenko wants to get back to his feet but Dodson passes into half guard.
Dodson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Emelianenko displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dodson. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for William Dodson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dodson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Emelianenko tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Dodson is in Emelianenko's guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Emelianenko is looking to stand back up but Dodson counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Emelianenko. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dodson not doing much here.

William Dodson dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
A telegraphed right hand from Dodson misses the target. Emelianenko forces Dodson back against the cage and clinches. Emelianenko breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Emelianenko throws a right and a left that both miss. Dodson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Emelianenko's waist but Emelianenko gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dodson off to one side. Dodson misses with a takedown attempt and Emelianenko decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dodson's guard. Emelianenko makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Dodson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Dodson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Emelianenko defends well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Emelianenko controls from within his opponent's guard. Emelianenko content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Emelianenko wants to get up but he can't break Dodson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Emelianenko paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Dodson - great work!
