Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Junior Dos Santos Ii (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Junior Dos Santos Ii!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cain Velasquez!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Albert Achterberg and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dos Santos Ii gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Velasquez cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Velasquez shoots in and gets a takedown into Dos Santos Ii's guard.

Velasquez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Velasquez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Velasquez working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Dos Santos Ii avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Velasquez wants to get up but he can't break Dos Santos Ii's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Dos Santos Ii is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Dos Santos Ii controls Velasquez momentarily but Velasquez frees himself.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Velasquez tries to stand but Dos Santos Ii is controlling from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Velasquez drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Velasquez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dos Santos Ii knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Cain Velasquez hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Dos Santos Ii goes for a double leg but Velasquez avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Velasquez continues to drive forward.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Velasquez lands a shoulder strike.

Cain Velasquez dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Velasquez is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dos Santos Ii defends it well.

Velasquez has control of Dos Santos Ii's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Dos Santos Ii regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Junior Dos Santos Ii has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Cain Velasquez is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Velasquez takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Well Velasquez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
