Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Virgil Little! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Christopher Locke! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Little defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Locke. Locke fails to land the takedown. Nice sprawl there from Little as Locke shoots in. Virgil Little has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Christopher Locke. Locke moves in looking to clinch but Little pushes him off. Locke is looking to clinch. Some bone on bone action there as Little checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Little fails with a takedown attempt. Locke moves into the clinch. Locke works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Locke trying to control but Little is working from the bottom. Locke engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
That's one minute gone in the round. Locke working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Locke looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Locke gets to his feet - Little follows without any prompting. Locke has closed the distance and engaged Little in a clinch.
Locke tries to land knees in the clinch but Little avoids the damage to the body. Little breaks the clinch.
Little fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Locke throws a right hand that Little ducks under and follows up with a left that Little also avoids with ease.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Little. Locke fails with a takedown attempt. Locke tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Little defends well and Locke ends up having to push Little into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Little tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Locke just stands there and leans against the cage. Locke tries to break free but Little pushes him back against the cage. Locke wants to get back to striking at distance but Little won't allow it.
Little has Locke pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Locke manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Locke is looking to break free of the clinch but Little has double underhooks. Locke is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Little tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Little is trying to drag Locke to the mat but Locke just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Little takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Little tries to pull guard but Locke holds him up against the cage and eventually Little drops back down to his feet.
Little jumps guard and drags Locke to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Locke trying to control the position from guard on top but Little is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Locke avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Locke is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Locke works a leg free and moves into half guard. Locke tries to pass to full mount but Little defends it. Little wants to get back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Little tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Locke sitting and controlling from the half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Christopher Locke dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Locke closes the distance and clinches up with Little, looking for a takedown. Locke pushes Little against the cage but Little circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Locke throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Little's waist but Little gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Locke off to one side. Locke throws a body punch but Little moves out of range. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Locke. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Little tries to close the distance and clinch but Locke swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Locke tries to clinch but Little is having none of it. Locke has managed to clinch.
Little could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Locke is trying to pull guard but Little turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Locke drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Little gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Little decides to pull guard. Little utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Little is trying to keep Locke in close.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Locke gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Little swats away the attempt to clinch by Locke. Little wants to clinch up but Locke keeps it at a distance. Little feints and then cracks Locke's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Locke down. Locke closes the distance and clinches. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Locke is trying to drag Little to the mat but Little just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Little tries to pull guard but Locke won't allow it.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Little tries to score a body lock takedown but Locke shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Little manages to break the clinch.
Little misses with a takedown attempt - Locke sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Locke chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Little can pounce on him.

Little throws an overhand right that lands on Locke's shoulder, as Locke tries to avoid the shot. Locke darts in looking for a takedown but Little gets double underhooks and turns Locke into the cage. Locke is breathing heavily. Little can't find room to land a body shot as Locke controls the action.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Little clinches. Little breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Locke throws a nice looking combination but Little bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Locke pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Locke dives in for a single leg takedown but Little sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Locke manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Little scores with a nice hook to the head. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Little manages to break the clinch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Locke. Little throws a one two combo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Virgil Little will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Virgil Little is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Locke throws a lazy head kick and Little counters with a one-two to the body. Locke fails with a takedown attempt. Little closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Little has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Locke avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Little tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Locke will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Little goes for a double leg but Locke avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Locke continues to drive forward. Little lands an uppercut. Locke is trying to pull guard but Little turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Little manages to break the clinch.

Locke takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Locke throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Little finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Little shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Locke as he jumps to the side. Locke wants to clinch. Locke throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Little's waist but Little gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Locke off to one side.

Locke fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Little avoids it really well and circles away. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Little lands with a straight right. Locke didn't see that one coming.
