Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Roderick Woodward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manuel Alonso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roderick Woodward!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Manuel Alonso!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Donatello Bradman and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woodward slips a jab and a cross from Alonso.
Alonso looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Woodward is fending him off so far but Alonso persists. Nope, Woodward circles away and we're back to standing.
Nice takedown defense from Alonso. No joy for Woodward on that attempt.

Woodward controls Alonso momentarily but Alonso frees himself.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Alonso closes the distance and clinches.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Alonso wants to break free but Woodward has control.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Alonso looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Alonso swats away the attempt to clinch by Woodward.

and Woodward counters by moving into the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Woodward - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Alonso wants to stand up but Woodward is controlling him.
Woodward throws a strike but Alonso rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Woodward manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Alonso is trying to pull guard but Woodward turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Alonso wants to lay and pray for a moment but Woodward keeps working.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Woodward is striking off his back. Alonso thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.

Alonso thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Woodward's head.
Woodward tries to get to full guard but Alonso has control of the leg.

Alonso is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Woodward is defending against the submission attempts here by Alonso.

Woodward manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Alonso keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Alonso jumps guard but Woodward turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Alonso changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Woodward fights it off and pushes away nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Manuel Alonso will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Woodward has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Alonso regains guard immediately.
Alonso is trying to control the position but Woodward postures up.
Woodward will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Woodward wants to control from the top but Alonso keeps moving.
Woodward is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Woodward working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Alonso's head.
Woodward really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Alonso seems keen to control Woodward's posture.

Alonso isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Woodward stacks Alonso on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Woodward!
Alonso takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Alonso tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Woodward wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Woodward tries for a kimura but Alonso is defending well.
Woodward throws an elbow but Alonso slips to the side and avoids it well.
Alonso tries to improve position but can't.

Woodward wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Alonso, who protects the arm well.
Woodward trying to control the position but Alonso is working away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Roderick Woodward showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Alonso has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
