The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasquez shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hammer napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Hammer is being controlled here.
Velasquez could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Velasquez advances nicely into full mount.
Hammer is trying desperately to improve position.
Velasquez lands a big elbow.
It looks like Arm Hammer has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hammer looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Velasquez is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Hammer with him. Hammer is trying to defend but Velasquez has an arm under the chin now! Hammer grimaces and is forced to tap out!

Cain Velasquez looked relieved post fight as he said the following; 'I Thank God !'.
