The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Daniel Cesar and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Octavius throws a head kick but Dale moves out of range.
Octavius darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Dale really is a fat lump.
Octavius wants to take a breather but Dale is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Octavius throws a strike but Dale avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Dale preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Octavius is looking to stand up but Dale won't let him.
Dale is trying to keep Octavius in close.
Octavius throws an elbow that misses. Dale uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Octavius's guard. Nice move by Dale!
Dale throws a strike but Octavius rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Octavius is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Octavius trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Octavius loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Octavius wants to control from the top but Dale keeps moving.
Octavius stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Dale throws up his legs and catches Octavius in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Octavius tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Dale! That came out of nowhere!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Jerry Dale!
The defeated Gaius Octavius had this to say: 'It is all good. next time I will come out more prepared and bring more than 100% I will most likely bring out 1,000,000% of all I got and will come out with the victory instead of the loss I took'.
