PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Knuckle Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timmey The Gangster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stone comes to the cage accompanied by Gimme Shelter. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 20 - 2, fighting out of London, Knuckle Stone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Timmey The Gangster!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Gangster moves in looking to clinch but Stone pushes him off.
Stone half committed to a counter leg kick.
A big right from Stone misses.
Stone throws a nice looking combination but The Gangster bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
The Gangster tries to move into range but Stone moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Stone cracks The Gangster with a good jab.
Nice takedown defense from Stone. No joy for The Gangster on that attempt.
The Gangster throws a head kick but Stone moves out of range.
Stone appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
The Gangster is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
The Gangster shoots in looking for a takedown but Stone manages to keep the fight standing, pushing The Gangster's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
The Gangster misses with a body shot.
We've been informed that The Gangster has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stone swings and misses with a hook to the body.

The Gangster closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Stone's guard.

Stone is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at ~T~ Troid - Gym that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

The Gangster bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Stone's guard.

The Gangster is looking to work some ground and pound but Stone has wrist control.
The Gangster won't allow Stone to sweep him here.
Stone controls The Gangster momentarily but The Gangster frees himself.
Stone tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The Gangster with a flurry of punches that miss.
The Gangster content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stone is trying to keep The Gangster in close.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The Gangster looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Knuckle Stone is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Stone scores with a head kick.
Stone throws a series of punches but The Gangster avoids them all with ease.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Stone, as that shot connected.
The Gangster fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Knuckle Stone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Timmey The Gangster.
The Gangster misses with a head kick.
Stone lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The Gangster wants to clinch up but Stone keeps it at a distance.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from The Gangster.

Stone misses with a few strikes there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The Gangster throws a head kick that Stone semi-blocks.

The Gangster scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The Gangster not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Stone tries to roll over but The Gangster keeps him under control.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

That was a close round but I would say that Knuckle Stone will probably get the nod.

The Gangster tries to score with some ground and pound. Stone controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
The Gangster throws an elbow but Stone slips to the side and avoids it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Timmey The Gangster showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Timmey The Gangster seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A looping hook to the body misses from Stone. The Gangster does a little dance to reset his feet.
The Gangster throws a head kick but Stone moves out of range.

Stone is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by The Gangster.

The Gangster shoots in for a double leg but Stone sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

The Gangster is fighting to break Stone's control of his arms but Stone is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as The Gangster accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Stone manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. The Gangster manages to get himself to full guard.

Stone's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The Gangster has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Stone has passed into side control.
Stone wants to stand but The Gangster has his arm trapped.
Stone wants to control but The Gangster is keeping him busy.

The Gangster tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Stone wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Stone tries to advance to mount but The Gangster denies him.
Stone trying to control the action but The Gangster is working from the bottom.
The Gangster is looking for a sweep.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The Gangster throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
The Gangster shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stone as he avoids it easily.
Knuckle Stone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Timmey The Gangster.
The Gangster moves out of range as Stone strikes.
The Gangster doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
The Gangster misses with a hook
and Stone counters with an inside leg kick.
Stone thumps The Gangster with a low kick.
Stone throws a nice outside leg kick.
Stone throws a nice looking combination but The Gangster bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
No luck with that takedown attempt from The Gangster.
Stone swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Decent striking displayed by Stone there.

Knuckle Stone showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Stone has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Knuckle Stone seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
