The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simpson misses with a combination
and Lawrence counters by moving into the clinch.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Simpson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lawrence has him pressed against the cage.
Lawrence's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Lawrence could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Simpson wants to clinch but Lawrence slips to the side
and Lawrence counters with a nice double leg into side control. Simpson won't be happy with that.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lawrence, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
