The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good work by Blaze as he checks the leg kick.
Michalek throws out a loose jab but Blaze uses good head movement to avoid it.
Blaze uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Blaze tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Michalek was well out of range. Poor timing from Blaze.
Blaze steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Michalek.
Blaze misses with a straight right.
Blaze fails with an attempt to clinch.
Michalek keeps the fight on the outside.
Michalek avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Blaze throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Michalek makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Michalek turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Michalek cracks the inside of Blaze's front leg.
Michalek looks for the body kick but Blaze saw that one coming.
The fighters circle momentarily. Michalek darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Michalek avoids a punch combination nicely.

Blaze works Michalek's body with a nice hook.
Blaze takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Blaze on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Blaze has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Michalek on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Michalek dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Blaze. That did some damage!
Blaze looks to land a combination but Michalek avoids it well.
Blaze missing with a left hand there. Michalek was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Michalek definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Blaze uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Michalek.
Michalek throws a half hearted mid kick.
Michalek tried to score with a low kick but Blaze checks it.
Blaze scores with a hook to the body. Michalek takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Blaze jabs Michalek right on the nose. Michalek blinks but takes it well.

and Michalek counters with an inside leg kick.
Nice takedown defense from Michalek. No joy for Blaze on that attempt.

A looping hook to the body misses from Blaze. Michalek does a little dance to reset his feet.
Johnny Blaze seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No joy there for Blaze, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A decent looking cross lands there for Michalek.
Michalek throws a hook to the side of Blaze's head but Blaze sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Blaze tries to clinch up.
Michalek lands a brutal head kick. Blaze looks out on his feet and Michalek throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
