Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Trenton Funkhouser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kalazzar Scar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Trenton Funkhouser!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kalazzar Scar!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scar avoids a punch combination nicely.
Funkhouser is looking to clinch but Scar is avoiding it.
Donk. Funkhouser catches Scar right on the button with a cross.
Funkhouser circles away from the clinch attempt.
Funkhouser misses with a series of wild punches.
Funkhouser lands with a cross.
Funkhouser cracks Scar with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Funkhouser lands with an overhand left.
Scar takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Scar fails with an attempt to clinch.
Scar wants to clinch up but Funkhouser keeps it at a distance.
Funkhouser drops down looking for a counter takedown but Scar sprawls and moves away.
Scar tries to clinch but Funkhouser is having none of it.
Funkhouser scores with a sloppy right hand. Scar should have avoided that one.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Funkhouser with a nice cross.
Scar tries to clinch up but Funkhouser circles away and keeps his distance.
Funkhouser swats away the attempt to clinch by Scar.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Funkhouser thuds his right hand into Scar's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Scar is looking to clinch.

Funkhouser closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Funkhouser blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
A nice left hand lands by Funkhouser.
Scar takes a shot to the head.
Scar looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Scar's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Scar goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Scar.
Scar is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Funkhouser pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Funkhouser blocking some punches.
Funkhouser drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Funkhouser digs a right hand into Scar's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Scar's gas tank.
Scar tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Funkhouser's elbow.
Funkhouser has been working on his balance at The Million Dollar Performance Center, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Scar.
Scar is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Scar gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Funkhouser looking for a triangle here. Scar is fighting it but it looks tight! Funkhouser pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Scar is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Trenton Funkhouser!
After the fight, Trenton Funkhouser was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
