The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vince Gormely seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gormely dives in for a single leg takedown but Vogel sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Gormely is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vogel slips a nice elbow through Gormely's hands, connecting with Gormely's forehead.
Vogel is nestled in close to Gormely, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Vogel lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Gormely quite badly. Gormely pulls Vogel in close trying to recover. Vogel postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Gormely on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Gormely doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
