Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cory Olsen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chris Tanner! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Olsen moves into the clinch successfully.
Olsen taking a breather. Olsen is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Tanner is defending well. Tanner throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Olsen blocks it with crossed arms. Olsen has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Tanner is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Olsen trying to land knees to the body.
Olsen stalling in the clinch but Tanner improves position. Tanner dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Olsen is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Tanner is defending well for now. Tanner controlling the action here for a moment.
Olsen wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cory Olsen. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Olsen drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Tanner gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Olsen swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Tanner breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tanner throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Olsen. Tanner scores with a head kick. Olsen tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
It looks like Cory Olsen has been cut. A combination from Tanner does no damage. Olsen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Olsen moves out of range as Tanner throws a body kick.
Tanner throws a sloppy head kick and Olsen moves out of range easily. Olsen on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Olsen tries to keep at a distance but Tanner has taken the fight into the clinch. Tanner lands a takedown into guard.
Olsen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tanner's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Tanner has Olsen pulled in close to control his posture. Olsen trying to stand up but can't free himself from Tanner's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Olsen loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Tanner trying to keep a closed guard but Olsen is proving a slippery customer.
Tanner pulls Olsen in close to prevent any damage. Olsen throws a big elbow that misses. Olsen trying to control the position from guard on top but Tanner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Olsen slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Olsen preventing the sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Olsen trying to control but Tanner is working from the bottom. Tanner looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Tanner controls Olsen momentarily but Olsen frees himself. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Olsen closes the distance and clinches. Olsen is trying to drag Tanner to the mat but Tanner just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Olsen has Tanner pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Tanner manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Olsen wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Tanner has him pressed against the cage. Tanner's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Olsen dives in and grabs Tanner's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tanner pushes down on Olsen's head and hops out. Tanner throws a sloppy head kick and Olsen counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Tanner has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Olsen is on him like a limpet, forcing Tanner back against the cage. This has been an exciting period of action! Olsen tries to pull guard but Tanner won't allow it.
Olsen is breathing heavily. Olsen misses with a punch on the inside.
Olsen goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Tanner manages to break the clinch.
Tanner ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Olsen moves away. Tanner gets a clinch. Olsen is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Tanner gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Tanner prevents Olsen from breaking the clinch. Olsen swings wildly with an uppercut but Tanner uses good head movement to avoid it. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Olsen looking to throw knees to the head but Tanner is blocking nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Tanner dominated that round. The cut man is working on Cory Olsen's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Olsen tries to clinch and Tanner counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Tanner throws a lazy head kick and Olsen counters with a three punch combo that has Tanner backing up. Tanner nods at Olsen to acknowledge the strikes. Tanner lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Tanner throws a right and a left that both miss. Olsen darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Tanner is trying to get back to full guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Olsen working over Tanner with some ground and pound. Tanner looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tanner is trying to get back to full guard. Olsen throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Olsen wants to stand up but Tanner manages to regain full guard. Olsen missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Tanner is trying to keep Olsen in close.
Tanner is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Olsen is controlling him. Olsen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Olsen trying to control the position from guard on top but Tanner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Olsen is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Tanner is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Olsen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Tanner works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Tanner keeping moving, preventing Olsen from controlling successfully.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Tanner scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Olsen rushes Tanner and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Tanner manages to pull guard.
Olsen looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Chris Tanner has got the better of the ground game so far. Tanner has a closed guard, preventing Olsen from standing up. Tanner wants to stand and escape but Olsen is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Olsen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Olsen throws an elbow that misses. Tanner uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Olsen's guard. Nice move by Tanner! Olsen keeping full guard, as Tanner tries to pass. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tanner throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Olsen keeping moving, preventing Tanner from controlling successfully. Olsen looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Olsen wants to stand and escape but Tanner is having none of it. Tanner in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Olsen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Tanner seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Tanner drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Tanner won't allow Olsen to sweep him here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Tanner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Cory Olsen's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Olsen seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Olsen tries to clinch there but Tanner circles away.
Tanner throws a right and a left that Olsen avoids nicely. Cory Olsen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Olsen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Tanner manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Olsen tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Tanner counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Olsen thinking. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tanner forces Olsen back against the cage and clinches. Tanner decides to pull guard. Olsen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Tanner controlling Olsen's posture.

Tanner is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Olsen preventing the sweep. Olsen postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Tanner fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Olsen, pushing him back against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tanner has Olsen pressed against the cage, preventing Olsen from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Olsen has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Olsen throws a knee to the head but misses.

Olsen tries to close the distance and clinch but Tanner swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Tanner stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Tanner wants it to stay on the feet. Cory Olsen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Tanner swats away the attempt to clinch by Olsen. Olsen has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tanner throws a sloppy head kick and Olsen moves out of range easily. Olsen gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Tanner to score an easy takedown into full guard. Tanner takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Olsen trying to control the position.
Olsen pulls Tanner in close to prevent any damage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Olsen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Cory Olsen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Chris Tanner is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Tanner wants to control from the top but Olsen keeps moving.
And that's the end of the fight! Chris Tanner comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Tanner has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
