Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Geraldo Sweeney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Locke!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Locke steps into range and cracks Sweeney with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Sweeney flops backwards and Locke dives into his guard looking to finish!


It looks like Geraldo Sweeney has been cut.
Sweeney has Locke pulled in close to control his posture.

Locke postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Sweeney is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Locke, into his guard.

Sweeney throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Locke works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Locke tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Locke is looking for a triangle but Sweeney pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Locke has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sweeney can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Locke looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Locke is looking for a triangle but Sweeney pushes his legs off easily.
Sweeney will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Locke is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Sweeney chips away with some ground and pound.

Locke is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Sweeney is working Locke over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Locke is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sweeney defends well.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Sweeney keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Locke's head.
Sweeney is working Locke over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Locke working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sweeney doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sweeney manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Sweeney drops back looking for a leg! Locke is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Locke manages to kick Sweeney off! Sweeney jumps back into Locke's guard.

Sweeney thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Locke is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sweeney defends well.

Locke is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Locke looks winded!

Locke looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Sweeney has picked Locke up and slammed him! Locke can't keep hold of the triangle and Sweeney manages to pass to side control!
Sweeney landing strikes.
Sweeney lands a nice forearm strike.
Sweeney cracks Locke with a big right hand but Locke just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Locke tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Sweeney presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Sweeney landing strikes from the mount and Locke is in trouble!
Sweeney cracks Locke with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.


Locke is rocked!
Sweeney connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Locke is still in real trouble! Can Sweeney finish him?
A big strike lands for Sweeney! That's really hurt Locke and he's turned his back - Sweeney keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Sweeney jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Geraldo Sweeney!
