Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ezra Pittman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Shalman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Ezra Pittman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alexander Shalman!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Richard Clark and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pittman looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Shalman shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Pittman manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Pittman wants to sweep here but Shalman controlling him for the moment.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pittman avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Shalman controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Pittman trying to keep a closed guard but Shalman is proving a slippery customer.

Pittman is working an open guard so Shalman takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Alexander Shalman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Shalman gets the takedown into side control.

Shalman decides to take the fight back to the feet.
No joy there for Shalman, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Shalman shoots in and bounces Pittman off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like Shalman might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Pittman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shalman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Shalman gets to his feet - Pittman follows without any prompting.

Shalman drives through with a takedown into Pittman's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Pittman has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Shalman off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Shalman shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Shalman takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Shalman slows the pace down in half guard.
Pittman really is a fat lump.

Shalman is looking for a kimura but Pittman is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Shalman to get the leverage.

Pittman is looking for a sweep. Shalman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Pittman misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Shalman is trying to control the action in half guard but Pittman is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Pittman wants to control but Shalman is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Shalman connects with a nice short shot to Pittman's temple.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Pittman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Shalman landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shalman wants to control but Pittman is keeping him busy.
Pittman is trying to stand back up but Shalman is controlling him
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alexander Shalman dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Shalman throws a front kick that sends Pittman stumbling back into the cage.
Shalman throws a lazy body kick
and Pittman counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Good leg kick by Shalman there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Shalman blocks a head kick by Pittman.
Pittman gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Shalman darts in and clinches Pittman up against the cage.
Pittman looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shalman gets a trip takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Pittman pushes Shalman off looking to stand but Shalman dives back in and keeps control.
Shalman is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Alexander Shalman has got the better of the ground game so far.
Pittman wants to get back to his feet.

Pittman is trying to get back to full guard.
Pittman missing with punches from the bottom.
Shalman tries to pass to full mount but Pittman defends it.
Shalman moves nicely into side control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Pittman is trying to control Shalman's posture but Shalman avoids it.
Shalman passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Pittman!
Shalman looking to control but Pittman is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Pittman grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.
Shalman keeps control of the position easily here as Pittman tries to buck him off.

Shalman cracks Pittman with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Pittman from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.

Shalman is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Pittman taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Shalman.
