PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fubar Teller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alan Fadzaev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fubar Teller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alan Fadzaev!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Teller uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Fadzaev.

and Fadzaev counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Teller!
Fadzaev is looking to take a break and control but Teller is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Teller tries to buck Fadzaev off but Fadzaev is having none of it.

Teller is trying to improve his position.
Fadzaev in side control, just content to control the action for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Teller has his foot on Fadzaev's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fadzaev works his way back into a safe position though.

Teller is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Fadzaev's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Fadzaev's back!

That was a close round but I would say that Fubar Teller will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Fadzaev throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Teller stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

As Fadzaev backs away, Teller returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Fadzaev feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Teller's calf.
Fadzaev tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Teller was well out of range. Poor timing from Fadzaev.
Fadzaev lands with a straight right. Teller didn't see that one coming.

Fadzaev stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Teller drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Teller swings around for an armbar but Fadzaev sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Teller's guard.

Fadzaev takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Fadzaev is trying to control the action in half guard but Teller is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Alan Fadzaev showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Teller isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Fadzaev stacks Teller on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Fadzaev!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Fubar Teller.
