Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rashad Ruiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dem Trawn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rashad Ruiz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dem Trawn! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ruiz fails in his attempt to clinch. The fight stays on the outside here - Ruiz looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Ruiz wants to clinch. Trawn misses with a takedown attempt and Ruiz counters with a right hand to the body. Ruiz lands a body shot.
Trawn throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Ruiz cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Ruiz has Trawn up against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Trawn lands a knee to the head.
It looks like Rashad Ruiz has been cut. Trawn jumps into guard, dragging Ruiz to the mat.
Trawn wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Trawn is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ruiz is aware though and is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ruiz trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Trawn is adopting a defensive guard. Trawn is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Ruiz slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Ruiz working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Trawn avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Ruiz. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Trawn is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Ruiz is controlling him well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Trawn is trying to control Ruiz's posture but Ruiz avoids it. Ruiz tries for a kimura but Trawn is defending well. You can see the frustration on Trawn's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Ruiz is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Trawn has escaped the position, nice work there. Ruiz working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Trawn manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Ruiz throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Ruiz is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Trawn is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Ruiz wants to stand but Trawn has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Trawn is defended easily by Ruiz. Ruiz stuffs the takedown attempt from Trawn. Trawn gets slowly back to his feet. Rashad Ruiz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dem Trawn. Ruiz fails in his attempt to clinch. Trawn shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Trawn is trying to control the action in half guard but Ruiz is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rashad Ruiz dominated that round. The cut man is working on Rashad Ruiz's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Trawn throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ruiz's waist but Ruiz gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Trawn off to one side. Trawn swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Trawn gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Trawn blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Ruiz jumps guard and drags Trawn to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Trawn controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ruiz has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Trawn trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Ruiz manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
That's one minute gone in the round. Ruiz throws a big right hand that misses. Trawn keeping full guard, as Ruiz tries to pass. Trawn not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Ruiz stands and steps away. Trawn gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Rashad Ruiz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ruiz gets tackled into the cage by Trawn. Trawn maintains the clinch. Trawn breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Trawn looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Ruiz is looking to control Trawn's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ruiz avoid being mounted?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Trawn passes to full mount! Rashad Ruiz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Trawn goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Ruiz is on top in guard.
Ruiz is looking to work some ground and pound but Trawn has wrist control. Ruiz with a nice head shot there. This has been an exciting period of action! Ruiz is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Trawn is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Trawn has escaped and now he's on top! There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ruiz is on top in guard.
Ruiz has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Trawn controls Ruiz momentarily but Ruiz frees himself. Trawn looking for a triangle here. Ruiz is fighting it but it looks tight! Trawn pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Ruiz is tapping out - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Dem Trawn!
