Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andre Valdez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Philly Willy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Philly Willy will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Philly Willy!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Bart Greer and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Valdez.
A telegraphed right hand from Willy misses the target.
Valdez scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Willy trying to control here.
Valdez stalling away here and it's allowed Willy to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Willy is trying to control the position but Valdez postures up.
Valdez is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Valdez throws an elbow that misses. Willy uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Valdez's guard. Nice move by Willy!

Valdez wants to sweep but no luck.
Willy wants to stand and escape but instead Valdez has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Valdez throwing strikes from guard but Willy blocks nicely.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Valdez's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Valdez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Willy works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Valdez looking to sit in guard and control but Willy gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Valdez has a closed guard, preventing Willy from standing up.
Valdez could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Valdez wants to sweep here but Willy controlling him for the moment.
Willy tries to stand but Valdez is controlling from the bottom.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Willy misses with a hook.
Willy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Valdez was well out of range. Poor timing from Willy.
Philly Willy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Valdez counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Valdez fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Valdez cracks Willy with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Willy throws a lazy right hand but Valdez sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Willy with a nice cross.
It looks like Andre Valdez has been cut.
Valdez misses with a few strikes there.
Willy throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Willy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Valdez throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Willy on the side of the head.
Willy misses the shot to the body.
Willy lands a big uppercut and Valdez crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Valdez looks OK. Willy waves Valdez back to his feet!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Willy closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Valdez! Willy dives in looking to finish! Valdez is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Philly Willy!
