The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phillips shoots in but Smith avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Smith darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Smith wants to stand up but Phillips has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Phillips is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Ground and pound from Smith.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Phillips wants to control the action here but instead Smith manages to pass to full mount!
Smith lands a nice shot to the head.
Phillips is in a horrible position here. Smith smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

The referee warns Phillips that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Phillips is working to get back to half guard.
Smith in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Phillips regains half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith drops an elbow to the side of Phillips's head.
Phillips is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Smith scores with a couple of nice shots.
Smith landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Phillips tries to roll over but Smith keeps him under control.

Smith is nestled in close to Phillips, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Phillips is not content to let Smith control the position.

Smith perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Smith scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Phillips actively working from the bottom here.
Smith wants to take a breather but Phillips is having none of it.
Phillips is trying to maintain the position but Smith is very close to passing his half guard.

Phillips manages to get to full guard.
Phillips escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Smith gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Smith lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Phillips is trying to control the position but Smith postures up.
Phillips will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Phillips controls Smith momentarily but Smith frees himself.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Phillips avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Phillips throws a counter combo.
Marky Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Phillips's guard.
Smith cracks Phillips with a solid left hand.
Phillips is rocked!
Smith content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Phillips is still in real trouble! Can Smith finish him?
Smith postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Phillips covers up, he's hurt! Smith keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Smith and the ref steps in to end the fight! Smith can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
