Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harold Dalton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Austin Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Harold Dalton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Austin Shaw!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Kavanagh and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shaw drives through and clinches with Dalton against the cage.

Shaw manages to break the clinch.

Dalton gets caught flat footed, as Shaw shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Dalton could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Shaw stands up and waves to Dalton to follow him.

Shaw closes the distance and clinches.
Dalton is trying to break free.
Shaw is trying to break the clinch but Dalton is controlling him.

Shaw pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Shaw moves into the clinch.
Dalton has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Dalton tries to circle away but Shaw has him pinned against the cage.
Dalton is looking to break free of the clinch but Shaw has double underhooks.
Shaw gets underhooks to prevent Dalton's takedown attempt.

Shaw's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Shaw shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Dalton is trying to defend but Shaw finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Dalton missing with punches from the bottom.
Dalton is looking for a sweep. Shaw is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Dalton is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Shaw's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Shaw's back!
Dalton throwing wild punches that miss their target.
Dalton throwing strikes and Shaw squirms under the pressure, ending up mounted.
Shaw tries to hold on but Dalton pushes him away.
Shaw is trying to stand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shaw keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shaw keeps trying to improve his position.
Shaw wants to get back to his feet.
Dalton thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Shaw is in a horrible position here. Dalton smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Shaw tries to hold on but Dalton pushes him away.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Shaw can do anything to dispel that myth.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shaw holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Dalton tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shaw tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Shaw wants to control but Dalton is having none of it.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Shaw is looking to improve his position but Dalton isn't that keen on the idea.
Shaw is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Dalton looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Shaw is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Shaw is wriggling around trying to escape.
Shaw wants to hold on but Dalton pushes him away.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Dalton cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Shaw tries to hold on but Dalton postures up.
A nice elbow there by Dalton.
Dalton throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Shaw tries to hold on but Dalton postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Harold Dalton dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Shaw gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Dalton is working for takedown but Shaw is calmly controlling the position for now.
Shaw wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Shaw breaks from the clinch.
Jab, jab by Shaw - just one landing.


It looks like Harold Dalton has been cut.

Dalton shoots in and bounces Shaw off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shaw keeping moving, preventing Dalton from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shaw is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


That's one minute gone in the round.

Dalton manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Shaw keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Shaw escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Dalton is looking to clinch.

Shaw is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Dalton's half guard.
Shaw is looking to take a break and control but Dalton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Shaw lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.


Dalton is rocked!

Shaw is trying to work for a kimura but Dalton is defending well.
Oh Dalton is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Shaw lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Dalton quite badly. Dalton pulls Shaw in close trying to recover. Shaw postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Dalton on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Dalton doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Austin Shaw!
