The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Highland tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Stephens keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Highland throws a big shot that misses. Stephens misses with a jab, cross combination.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Highland. Stephens fails with an attempt to clinch.
Highland throws a body shot but no joy. Highland moves into the clinch successfully.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Highland doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Stephens looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Stephens closes the distance and clinches. Highland lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Highland throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Stephens is trying to maintain the position but Highland is very close to passing his half guard. Stephens is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Stephens is trying to stand back up but Highland is controlling him

The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Highland with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Stephens keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Highland looking for submissions off his back. Stephens passes to full mount!

Stephens throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Stephens looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Highland holds of for dear life. Highland is trying to escape the mount.

Stephens lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Highland hang on? Stephens wants to control the pace but Highland is squirming around nicely. Stephens has hold of Highland's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Highland manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Highland tries to hold on but Stephens pushes him away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Danny Stephens showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Highland misses with a head kick.
Stephens fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Highland, pushing him back against the cage. Stephens tries to stall but Highland uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Stephens is trying to force a seperation but Highland has the dominant position. Highland breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Highland is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Stephens's half guard. Highland content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Highland prevents Stephens from standing back up.
Stephens takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Stephens is in trouble. Highland really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Stephens.
