Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Craig Patton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Blue Cup (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Patton kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Heart of a Champion - Nelly. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Craig Patton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Blue Cup!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cup showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Patton.
Patton fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Cup looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Cup advances position into side control!
You can see the frustration on Patton's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cup takes a little break here. Patton wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Cup thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Patton is trying to control Cup's posture but Cup avoids it.
Patton knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cup on the ground.
Patton is trying to get back to half guard.
Cup working away.
Patton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Cup moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Cup goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Patton rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Cup's guard! Nice work there by Patton!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cup lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Cup engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Patton can't keep his opponent in guard - Cup advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Cup controlling the pace.

Cup is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Patton defends it well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Cup trying to control the action but Patton is working from the bottom.

Cup is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Cup content to control rather than advance.

Cup decides to return to a standing position.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Patton enables Cup to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Patton manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Cup seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Cup stands and throws Patton's legs to the side, diving into side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Cup wants to control but Patton is keeping him busy.
Patton is trying to work for a sweep but Cup has mounted him!
Patton prevents Cup from taking his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Blue Cup dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Patton tries to sprawl but Cup drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Patton is trying to stand.
Cup is pressing down on Patton's thigh, looking to free his foot. Patton is holding on for now.
Cup works his way into full mount!
Cup controlling from the full mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cup moves to take his opponent's back.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Patton is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Cup.

Cup looking to break Patton's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Patton remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Cup will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Cup gets his hands free as Patton looks to control.

Cup sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Patton taps out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Blue Cup!
An out of breath Blue Cup thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
In defeat, Craig Patton stepped up to the mic, saying 'He was the better fighter tonight. I'll be back. '.
