Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitry Gusev!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Vladimir Khabensky and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gusev feints and as England raises his hands in defense, Gusev changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
England might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Gusev postures up.
Gusev sitting in guard here, content to control.
England looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Gusev is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now England is on top in guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gusev thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gusev wants to stand up but England is controlling him.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
England not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Gusev tries to roll over but England keeps him under control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Gusev.
Gusev working the strikes but England uses the opportunity to regain half guard.

England is looking to escape.

Gusev prevents England from improving his position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

England scrambles and gets back to his feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Graham England will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Gusev shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Gusev connects with a couple of short punches.
England looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gusev is one step ahead there.
England controls Gusev momentarily but Gusev frees himself.

Gusev seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Gusev stands up over England, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
England is trying to control the position but Gusev postures up.
Gusev chips away with some ground and pound.
England could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
England being controlled here, momentarily.
Gusev is working England over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Gusev must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Gusev stands up over England, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Gusev is stalling in the full guard.

England is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Gusev with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Gusev controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Gusev sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed England's guard.
Gusev works his foot free and advances to mount.

Gusev is landing with some decent strikes but England is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

England takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Gusev with shots to the head and body - England looks very uncomfortable down there.


England is rocked!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Gusev looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has England covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
