Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Allen Iverson ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jordan Scanlan! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Iverson shoots in looking for a takedown but Scanlan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Iverson 's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Iverson gets a clinch. Scanlan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Iverson is looking to clinch. Scanlan stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. A chopping leg kick lands by Iverson . Scanlan's corner calls for a 1-2. Scanlan obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Scanlan changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Scanlan's jab looks to have found its range, popping Iverson under the eye.
Iverson is rocked! Iverson takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Iverson wants to clinch. Scanlan lands with a shot to the body. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Iverson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Scanlan paws at him with a jab and circles away. Scanlan cracks Iverson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Oh Iverson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Jordan Scanlan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scanlan showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Iverson .
Iverson needs to keep his hands up - Scanlan had a free shot at his head there. A combination from Iverson does no damage. Iverson doesn't manage to clinch there - Scanlan circles away.
Scanlan cracks Iverson with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Iverson looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Scanlan finish him?
Scanlan lands a jab to Iverson 's midsection. Iverson is breathing heavily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Iverson throws a jab when Scanlan was well out of range. Iverson throws a poor cross that misses
and Scanlan makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Scanlan drops Iverson with a huge uppercut! Iverson drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Scanlan is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jordan Scanlan! Jordan Scanlan decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
