0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Glass Joe! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Matheus Silva and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Joe with a body punch. A glancing blow. Paulson misses with a wild combination.
Paulson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Joe swivels and escapes. Paulson looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Paulson misses with a hook. Paulson shoots in for a takedown but Joe shows good takedown defense. Paulson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jackson Paulson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Paulson!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Joe. Paulson taking a bit of punishment here - Joe scoring with strikes. Paulson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Joe is controlling him well. Paulson is breathing heavily. Joe happy to just control the position for now. Joe advances to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Joe looking to control and managing it successfully. I looks like Joe might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Joe with the ground and pound from mount.
Paulson is rocked! Joe punishing his opponent with strikes. Oh Paulson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Joe has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Joe scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Paulson looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Joe biding his time, controlling Paulson. Joe is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Paulson taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Joe.
