Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Erik Friedrichsen (ranked 1275 p4p, 140 weight class) and Jake Woods (ranked 491 p4p, 56 weight class). Erik Friedrichsen had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 267.5lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Hugh Johnson and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woods goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
It looks like Erik Friedrichsen has been cut.
Woods swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Woods fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Friedrichsen manages to avoid it.
Woods lands a right hook to the body.
Woods lands a lovely overhand right.
Woods connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Friedrichsen momentarily.
Friedrichsen is looking to slow Woods down with leg kicks.
Woods scores with a shot to the body.
Woods checks a leg kick.
Friedrichsen throws a right hand that misses
and Woods scores with a counter punch that sends Friedrichsen to the canvas! Woods smells blood - he's punishing Friedrichsen with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Friedrichsen has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jake Woods!
After the fight, Jake Woods was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
The defeated Erik Friedrichsen had this to say: 'I am young. This is merely a slight delay'.
