PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Megaton (ranked 428 p4p, 70 weight class) and Carl Moore (ranked 790 p4p, 126 weight class). Moore is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Sad Man's Tongue by Volbeat. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Mike Megaton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carl Moore!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Kavanagh and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Moore feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Moore tries to free his leg and advance position but Megaton is retaining full guard.
Moore postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Megaton is pulling down on Moore's head. It's preventing any offense from Moore, at least for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Moore has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Megaton moves forwards but Moore connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Moore shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Megaton napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Moore is trying to move to mount but Megaton reverses beautifully and ends up in Moore's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

You can see the frustration on Moore's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

That was a close round but I would say that Mike Megaton will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Moore stands and throws Megaton's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Moore sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Megaton is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Megaton is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mike Megaton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carl Moore.

Carl Moore spoke after the fight, saying 'No one likes seeing their opponent's hand raised, but that just means that they were the better man today. My team at 3Band MMA and I will break down this match and make the proper changes for my next camp.'.
