Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anton Shibaev (ranked 5525 p4p, 555 weight class) and Girbby Mobubadanu (ranked 4078 p4p, 478 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Anton Shibaev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Girbby Mobubadanu! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Bart Greer and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Shibaev looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Shibaev gets off balance looking for a body kick and Mobubadanu counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mobubadanu. Shibaev is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Shibaev is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Mobubadanu tries to free his leg and advance position but Shibaev is retaining full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shibaev doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Shibaev is really struggling to control Mobubadanu but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Mobubadanu defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Shibaev. Shibaev bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Mobubadanu tries to get back to half guard but can't. Shibaev is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Mobubadanu's shoulder. That is not cool. Shibaev throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Mobubadanu gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mobubadanu keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Shibaev has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Shibaev sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Mobubadanu is squirming around, avoiding Shibaev's attempts to control the action. Shibaev tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Shibaev thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shibaev is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Mobubadanu can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mobubadanu can do anything to dispel that myth. Shibaev controlling from the full mount. Mobubadanu really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shibaev. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Mobubadanu is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Shibaev throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Shibaev looking to control but Mobubadanu is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Shibaev controlling the pace for now. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Shibaev throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Mobubadanu because Shibaev loaded up on that one. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shibaev shoots in for a takedown but Mobubadanu shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Shibaev will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. The fighters roll with the hold and Mobubadanu manages to kick Shibaev off! Shibaev jumps back into Mobubadanu's guard. Mobubadanu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Mobubadanu holds on and takes a little breather. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Shibaev looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Shibaev quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Mobubadanu has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Shibaev celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
