Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johannes Boe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Victor Slaughter! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Slaughter on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Boe looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Boe misses with a body shot.
Boe throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Slaughter drives through and clinches with Boe against the cage.
Boe is defending well against a takedown attempt. Slaughter is trying to drag Boe to the mat but Boe just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. A nice right hand lands inside from Boe. Slaughter blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Boe trying to control the position but instead, Slaughter has worked for underhooks and has pushed Boe into the cage. Boe wants to break the clinch but can't.
Slaughter manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Slaughter working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Boe doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Boe manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Boe stopping the sweep attempt from Slaughter. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Slaughter is looking for a triangle but Boe pushes his legs off easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slaughter keeping moving, preventing Boe from controlling successfully. Slaughter looking to hit a scissor sweep but Boe is one step ahead there. Slaughter working for a triangle but Boe defends it easily.
Boe is sitting in close to Slaughter's body. Slaughter has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Boe is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Boe is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Slaughter.
