Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waterfalls buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Waterfalls swats away the attempt to clinch by Smith.
Jason Waterfalls seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Waterfalls throws a sloppy head kick and Smith moves out of range easily.
Waterfalls throws a head kick that misses.
The fight stays on the outside here - Smith looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Smith moves in looking to clinch but Waterfalls pushes him off.

Smith digs a good body shot into Waterfalls's ribs.
Smith on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Waterfalls throws the left hand but Smith avoids the punch easily.
A nice inside leg kick there by Waterfalls. That's going to slow Smith down.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smith avoids the head kick by Waterfalls.
Smith was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Smith chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Waterfalls can pounce on him.
Smith moves in looking to clinch but Waterfalls pushes him off.

Smith breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Waterfalls fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Smith has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch but Waterfalls swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Waterfalls throws out a counter right but Smith avoids it with no problem.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Waterfalls.

Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Waterfalls paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Waterfalls is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.

Smith thuds his right hand into Waterfalls's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Smith wants to clinch.
Smith is looking to clinch.
Waterfalls takes a jab right on the kisser.

Waterfalls is rocked!
Smith on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Waterfalls. Waterfalls obviously looking to wear him down.
Waterfalls is still on wobbly legs! Can Smith finish him?

Smith fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Waterfalls, pushing him back against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smith lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Waterfalls backwards.
Smith dips a shoulder and cracks Waterfalls with a mighty uppercut! Waterfalls falls back against the cage and Smith unloads with a barrage of strikes! Waterfalls is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Smith screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Smith!
