Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kevin King! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cristobal Los Escos! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Chad Campbell and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! King is trying hard to land a takedown here. Los Escos sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. King has a takedown stuffed. King has his takedown stuffed and Los Escos counters with a left to the body. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin King. That's going to take a lot out of him. Los Escos gets the takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. King parries the strikes from Los Escos easily there. Los Escos is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable King to escape.
King regains half guard. King wants to get back to full guard. King is pressing down on Los Escos's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. King manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Los Escos manages to get himself to full guard.
King is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. King trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Los Escos is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. This has been an exciting period of action! King drops back looking for a leg! Los Escos is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Los Escos manages to kick King off! King jumps back into Los Escos's guard. King preventing the sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. King drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and King jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Los Escos tries to land a sweep but no joy. Los Escos looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Los Escos keeps trying to improve his position. King forces his way into half guard. Los Escos is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Los Escos is defending against the submission attempts here by King.
King is working for a submission of some sort.

That's two minutes gone in the round. It looks like King is going to stand back up.
King is looking for a kimura but Los Escos is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for King to get the leverage. Los Escos is looking to improve his position.
Los Escos landing small, sideways elbows. King seems to be working for a kimura but Los Escos defends the submission attempt. King is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Los Escos defends it well. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Los Escos is defending against the submission attempts here by King.
