Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Preston Green! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mahatma Gandhi! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Green closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Gandhi quickly recovers to half guard. Green is working for a kimura but Gandhi is defending it quite comfortably.
Gandhi tries to kick Green off but Green keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Gandhi is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Green slips a nice elbow through Gandhi's hands, connecting with Gandhi's forehead. Green is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gandhi doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Green. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gandhi has one foot on Green's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Gandhi lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gandhi with a poor takedown and Green counters with a shoot takedown. Gandhi fights it but they end up in guard. Gandhi is working an open guard so Green takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Green closes the distance and clinches. Green breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Green on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Green scores with a takedown into Gandhi's guard. Gandhi wants to stand up but Green is controlling him. Gandhi has his feet on Green's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. This has been an exciting period of action! Green leaves Gandhi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Gandhi gets off balance looking for a body kick and Green counters with a nice double leg into guard. Gandhi has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Green is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gandhi is looking to take this one to the mat. We've been informed that Gandhi has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Preston Green has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mahatma Gandhi. Green manages to break the clinch.
Green feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Gandhi wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Green manages to pass to side control. Green is breathing heavily. Gandhi is trying to stand.
Green is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Gandhi has managed to free his arm - good work. Gandhi is defending against the submission attempts here by Green.
Green takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Gandhi makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Gandhi fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Green has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Green has Gandhi up against the cage in a clinch.

Gandhi wants to stand and escape but instead Green has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Green stands up from Gandhi's guard - Green perhaps looking for a knockout. Gandhi throws a quick inside leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Green takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Green gets the takedown into side control. This has been an exciting period of action! Gandhi pushes Green away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Green gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Green thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Gandhi tries to escape but Green is in control. Green is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gandhi has escaped the position, nice work there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gandhi is pushing Green's head away, looking to escape. Green manages to hold on to the position though. Green working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Gandhi is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Green is controlling him well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gandhi keeps Green at a distance using the push kick. Gandhi misses with a takedown attempt - Green sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Gandhi thumps Green with a low kick. Excellent takedown into side control there by Green. Gandhi wants to get back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gandhi sneaks out the side door and pushes Green away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. That kick from Gandhi tenderised Green's leg. Green is trying to keep his angry face on. Green feints and as Gandhi raises his hands in defense, Green changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gandhi wants to get back to his feet but Green is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Green scoring with some ground and pound. Green is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Gandhi has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Green is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Green has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Gandhi uses from the top position. Green pulls Gandhi in to control the position. Gandhi gets to his feet. Green looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Gandhi shoots in but Green avoids the takedown attempt easily. Gandhi closes the distance and clinches up with Green, looking for a takedown. Gandhi pushes Green against the cage but Green circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Preston Green has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mahatma Gandhi. Green keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lazy body kick from Gandhi and Green decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gandhi's guard. Green postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gandhi wants to stand and escape but Green is having none of it. Gandhi kicks Green off and gets to his feet. Gandhi shoots in but no luck this time. Green fires out a quick counter leg kick but Gandhi just manages to avoid it. Green leaves Gandhi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Green shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Gandhi wants to stand up but Green is controlling him.

Nice takedown defense from Green. No joy for Gandhi on that attempt. Gandhi feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Green's calf. Green closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Gandhi quickly recovers to half guard. Gandhi looks like he's trying to stand up.
