Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Byung Soo Choi (ranked 3940 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shik Jang (ranked 24817 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Shik Jang was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Byung Soo Choi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shik Jang! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Jorge Garcia and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Choi tries a head kick but it misses.
Choi looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! A head kick misses from Choi. Choi throws a sloppy head kick and Jang moves out of range easily. Jang scoring well with a low kick there.
Choi throws a head kick that misses and Jang counters with a one-two to the body. Jang decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Choi is looking to get back to is feet but Jang passes into side control.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jang tries to score with some ground and pound. Choi controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Jang looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Choi is avoiding damage well.

That's one minute gone in the round. Choi tries to escape but Jang is in control. Jang has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Choi bucks up and tries to throw Jang off but instead Jang has got his back! Jang is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Jang tries to get the hooks in deep but Choi pushed the leg off. Choi is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Choi is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Jang gets his way!

He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Jang off. It looks like it's working - Jang slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Choi displaying calm under pressure there. Jang looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? He's pushed Jang's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Choi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. And Jang tries to counter it with a takedown but Choi pushes his down on his head and steps out. Nice defenses there by Jang. Jang Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Choi is trying to buck Jang off. Jang stands up and beckons Choi to his feet. No luck for Jang with that takedown attempt. Byung Soo Choi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shik Jang. Jang showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Choi.

Choi pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Choi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Jang fails in his attempt to clinch. Jang swings for the body but Choi moves out of range.
Choi looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Jang clinches up against the cage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jang is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Choi to keep the fight standing. Choi wants to get back to striking at distance but Jang won't allow it.

Choi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jang circles away quickly and effectively. A punch combination from Choi misses. Jang shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Choi sprawls well. Choi wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jang gets slowly back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Shik Jang will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Jang shoots for a takedown but Choi saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Choi throws a sloppy head kick and Jang moves out of range easily. Jang closes the distance and clinches up with Choi, looking for a takedown. Jang pushes Choi against the cage but Choi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Jang blocks a head kick by Choi.
Jang tries to clinch but Choi is having none of it. Choi gets tackled into the cage by Jang. Jang maintains the clinch. Choi looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jang jumps guard but Choi stands there with Jang around his waist. Jang gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Byung Soo Choi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shik Jang. Choi tries to break free but Jang pushes him back against the cage. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jang looking to throw knees to the head but Choi is blocking nicely.

Jang is trying to counter with his kicks. Jang sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Choi throws a head kick that misses. Jang closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Shik Jang has got the better of the ground game so far. Choi is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Choi wants to get back to his feet but Jang is dominant here and he's now got Choi's back! Jang has Choi flattened out and is raining down punches. Jang just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
