The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Vernon shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kulik defends it nicely. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Vernon for as long as he can get away with. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vernon holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

It looks like he's just sitting there. Vernon is looking to control Kulik's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Vernon avoid being mounted?

 That's nine minutes gone in the round. Kulik seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Vernon does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Kulik with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Vernon is looking for a sweep. Kulik is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kulik trying to control the position from guard on top but Vernon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that's the end of the fight! As we have tied on points, we go to a tie breaker and Kulik gets a bonus point for attempting more subs. Kulik takes the fight on points by 3 to 2.
