Brandao keeps the fight on the outside. Hiller has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Hiller takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Brandao scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Brandao looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Hiller ducks right into an uppercut from Brandao. Hiller shoots in but Brandao avoids the takedown attempt easily. Brandao fakes the leg kick and cracks Hiller in the body. Hiller avoids the body shot from Brandao.

Erik Hiller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#TD2# Rivera gets caught flat footed, as Hiller shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Hiller passes Rivera's left leg - he's now in half guard. Rivera really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Hiller prevents Rivera from standing back up.

Hiller wants to clinch. As Hiller backs off Kong throws a huge counter combo but Hiller manages to avoid it all. Hiller is looking to clinch but Kong is avoiding it.
Kong lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Kong pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hiller checks a leg kick. Sloppy strikes from Hiller. Those never looked like landing. Hiller moves in looking to clinch but Kong pushes him off. A head kick by Hiller misses and Kong counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. #T2# Hiller wants to clinch but Kong slips to the side and Kong counters with a straight right hand. Good leg kick by Kong there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Bundles has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Hiller scores with a nice body kick.

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Helsinki, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Erik Hiller! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 1 losses; Mario Curran! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Tarja Halkonen.
