Smith jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Feingold walks away with a smile on his face. Smith gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Justin Feingold seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Smith changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Feingold tries to avoid it but Smith manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Feingold to the ground. Feingold escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Smith lands with a right hand. #CL2# Feingold forces Smith back against the cage and clinches. Smith goes for a takedown attempt but Feingold pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jefferey Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him. Smith slips a jab and a cross from Feingold.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smith wants to control the position but Skrald says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. #T1##SUB2# Skrald is looking for a kimura but Smith is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Skrald to get the leverage.
