Maia sizes up Pennington with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Maia fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Pennington tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Maia manages to circle out of the way.#TD# Pennington changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Maia looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.#T1# Maia is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Pennington is controlling him well. Maia keeps Pennington under control for a moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Maia sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
