#R1##CL2# Bato clinches with his opponent.
#TD# Gould has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Bato is trying to keep an underhook but Gould manages to get the takedown into half guard. Gould scores with a couple of good hammerfists. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Gould lands a nice short elbow. Bato manages to get to full guard.
#SUB2# Bato throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gould trying to control the position from guard on top but Bato is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. #T1# Bato pulls Gould in close to his closed guard and prevents Gould from doing any damage or advancing position. Bato is continuing to stall. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#T2# My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Gould throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. #SUB2# Bato has his foot on Gould's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gould works his way back into a safe position though. Bato is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. #SU# Gould stands up and waves to Bato to follow him. #T3##TD# Gould drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.#SU# Gould decides to stand back up. #TD2# Bato gets the takedown into side control. Bato is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Gould's shoulder. That is not cool. Bato working the ground and pound but Gould is defending the strikes. Gould is looking to reverse the position. Bato throws a strike aimed at the side of Gould's head but Gould avoids it well. Bato postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Bato working the strikes but Gould uses the opportunity to regain half guard. #T4# Bato prevents Gould from improving his position. Gould keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Bato seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Bato thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gould's head. Gould is breathing heavily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bato thows a huge punch but Gould dodges it nicely.
Bato throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bato looks to land a strike but Gould avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Bato is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Bato has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Bato loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Digong Bato will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! #R2##TD2# Bato decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Bato wants to take a breather but Gould is having none of it. Bato looks to land a strike but Gould avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Bato throws a big elbow that misses. Bato sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gould's guard. #SUB2# Bato is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Gould has managed to free his arm - good work. Bato not landing any meaningful shots this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bato performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Gould is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. #T1# Gould blocking the ground and pound attempt from Bato. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gould keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Bato with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Digong Bato has got the better of the ground game so far.#SUB2# Bato in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Gould tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Bato!
