#R1##TD2# McGee closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - McGee lands in his opponent's guard. Tran is pulling down on McGee's head to control his posture. McGee trying to control the position from guard on top but Tran is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tran looking for a sweep. Not yet Tran, not yet. #SUB# McGee avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Tran is trying to control the position but McGee postures up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB# Tran looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

#T1# McGee advances to half guard. #SUB2# McGee seems to be working for a kimura but Tran defends the submission attempt. Tran tries to roll over but McGee keeps him under control. McGee takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.#SUB2# McGee wants to work for an arm triangle but Tran is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
#SUB# Tran is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McGee pulls his head out easily. #SUB2# McGee has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Tran defend it? McGee steps over the head and cranks it - Tran is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for McGee!
