#R1# Kai fails with the takedown. As Kai looks to move away, Hicks throws a big counter combo but Kai just gets out of the way. Kai gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily #TD# and Hicks counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hicks. Hicks makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Kai is trying to keep Hicks in close.
Hicks content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Hicks chips away with some ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kai is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hicks lands a couple of elbows. Hicks postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. #T1##SUB2# Kai looking for a guillotine here but Hicks defends easily.
Hicks is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Hicks postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hicks working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kai's head. Hicks lands a couple of digs. Hicks makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Hicks lands a couple of decent looking shots. Hicks lands a couple of elbows. Hicks stands up over Kai, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Kai really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hicks. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hicks lands a couple of elbows. Hicks really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.#T2# Hicks postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hicks working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kai's head. Hicks has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hicks postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hicks's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Hicks lands a couple of decent looking shots.#T3##SU# Hicks gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kai is defended easily by Hicks. Juan Hicks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cosmo Kai.#CL# Hicks forces Kai back against the cage and clinches. Kai misses with a punch on the inside.
Hicks lands with a short shot to the head. Hicks misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Kai.

#SUB# Hicks has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Kai should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Hicks has tightened it up now! Kai should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

#R1# Kai looks to land a left hand but Jones moved out of range nicely. Jones swings for the body but Kai moves out of range.
Jones connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Kai tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Jones is able to avoid easily. Jones throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Kai misses the shot to the body. Jones circles away from the clinch attempt.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kai. Jason Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kai slips under a jab. Kai went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.#CL2# Jones clinches. Kai can't break the clinch.

Jones misses with a hook from the clinch. Jones lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Kai wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jones has him pressed against the ropes. Kai tries to break free but Jones pushes him back against the ropes.#T1# Kai misses with a knee to the head. Jones tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Jones lands a nice shot to the body. Jones swings wildly with an uppercut but Kai uses good head movement to avoid it. Jones misses with a shot to the kidneys.
#BC# Kai escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kai tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Jones manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.#CL2# The fight moves into the clinch position. Kai blocks an uppercut.
Jones tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kai's elbow. Kai pushes off an throws an elbow but Jones leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the ropes. Jones throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Kais head. Jones lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. #T2# Kai has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Jones lands a hook to the side of the head. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Kai is struggling to control the position. A head punch blocked on the inside by Jones. Jones lands a right hand that snaps the head of Kai backwards. Kai looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. A frustrated look appears on Kai's face as he tries to break the clinch. Kai is trying to break the clinch but Jones is controlling him. Kai tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Jones's elbow. Jones lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Kai backwards. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jones lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. #ROC2# Kai is rocked! Kai is trying to break the clinch but Jones has him pressed against the ropes. Jones can't find room to land a body shot as Kai controls the action.

Kai is looking to control Jones's arms but Jones gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kai has his back to the ropes. With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Jones creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Jones working some nice short punches in the clinch. Jones misses with a hook to the ribs.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jones lands with a right to the head. Jones cracks Kai with a big uppercut, right up the middle and Kai goes down! Oh, he's hurt! He's bigtime hurt! The referee is giving him a chance to get back to his feet - 4,5,6,7, no, he's called it off! Kai wasn't going to make it and the fight is over!
