#R1##CL# Van Hoost pushes Hudson up against the cage in a clinch. Van Hoost fails to pull guard.
#TD# Van Hoost jumps guard and drags Hudson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Hudson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Van Hoost keeping moving, preventing Hudson from controlling successfully. Hudson works a leg free and moves into half guard. #SUB2# Hudson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Hudson controlling the action here. Van Hoost knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hudson on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB2# Hudson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
#T1##SUB2# Hudson is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Van Hoost is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

#R1# Nice takedown defense from Van Hoost. No joy for Maia on that attempt. Van Hoost looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Maia is fending him off so far but Van Hoost persists. Nope, Maia circles away and we're back to standing. Van Hoost moves into range and connects with a jab. Van Hoost is looking to clinch. Maia attempts a counter takedown but Van Hoost avoids it well and moves away. A nice combination there by Van Hoost.
Maia misses with a double jab.
Van Hoost throws a sloppy head kick and Maia moves out of range easily. #TD# Maia shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Maia lands strikes from half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Maia trying to pass the guard but Van Hoost defending well. Van Hoost is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. #T1# Maia is controlling the pace.

Maia looking to control but Van Hoost is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. #T2# Maia takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Van Hoost is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Maia wants to control the pace but Van Hoost is squirming around nicely. Van Hoost has given up his back here. Will Maia look for the submission or keep pounding away?
#T3##SUB# Maia is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Van Hoost has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Maia tries to keep control of the position but Van Hoost is staying busy. Van Hoost trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Van Hoost tries to roll but Maia sticks to his back.
Maia keeps control of the position easily here as Van Hoost tries to buck him off.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Maia is working the ground and pound. Can Van Hoost escape?#SUB# Maia is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Van Hoost defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Maia controlling well, preventing Van Hoost from escaping the position.
#T4# The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Maia's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
#SUB# Maia working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Van Hoost is doing well to defend. Maia seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Van Hoost is forced to tap and this one is over!
