#R1##TD2# Goyo shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gregory napping and manages to drive through into side control! Gregory parries the strikes from Goyo easily there. Goyo is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Gregory to escape.
Goyo is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Goyo working the ground and pound. Gregory is trying to escape the position but Goyo is controlling the position. It looks like Goyo might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Let's hope that Goyo has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#T1# Gregory is trying to control Goyo's posture but Goyo avoids it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
