#R1# Ishii misses with a body kick. Ishii tries to close the distance and clinch but Mccullough swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. #TD# Mccullough looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Ishii! Ishii struggling a bit here. Ishii is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Mccullough in side control, just content to control the action for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ishii is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.#T1# Mccullough controls the position from side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ishii is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Ishii taking punishment in the form of punches.
Mccullough remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Mccullough's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Mccullough really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. You can see the frustration on Ishii's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Mccullough staying calm. Mccullough sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Ishii throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ishii tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mccullough paws at him with a jab and circles away. A kick lands to the mid section there for Ishii. Ishii tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Ishii looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Mccullough went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. #R2# Mccullough keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Mccullough looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Ishii tries to clinch up. Mccullough swats away the attempt to clinch by Ishii. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ishii's guard. Ishii is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Mccullough is stalling in the full guard. #T1# Mccullough is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ishii can do to turn this around? Ishii should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.#SUB# Mccullough thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Mccullough will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Ishii keeping full guard, as Mccullough tries to pass. Mccullough showing good wrestling skills to control the position. #T2# The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Ishii trying to keep a closed guard but Mccullough is proving a slippery customer.
#REF3# The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Mccullough circles away from the clinch attempt and Mccullough counters with a left and a right that stings Ishii. Ishii fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Mccullough throws a quick counter head kick but Ishii was just out of range. Bryan Mccullough has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kouta Ishii.#CL# Ishii tries to keep at a distance but Mccullough has taken the fight into the clinch. Mccullough stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Possibly, maybe, no Mccullough has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Mccullough staying calm. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mccullough seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ishii for as long as he can get away with.#T1# Ishii rolls, trying to escape but Mccullough keeps control of the position.

Mccullough has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Ishii's body.
