Coming up we have a light heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Jake Plunkett (ranked 5548 p4p, 567 weight class) and Anders Hakan (ranked 5966 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And in the blue corner, fighting out of Helsinki, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Anders Hakan! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Matti Vanhoillinen.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Plunkett shoots in looking for a takedown but Hakan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Plunkett's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Hakan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Plunkett circles away. Hakan has taken the fight to the clinch.
Plunkett tries to score a body lock takedown but Hakan shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Plunkett tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hakan smiles and moves away.

Plunkett showing good wrestling skills to control the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hakan can do anything to dispel that myth. Plunkett drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Plunkett jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Hakan not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Further stalling from Plunkett. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Plunkett wants to control from the top but Hakan keeps moving. Plunkett pushes down on Hakan's leg and manages to get into half guard. Hakan is looking to control Plunkett's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hakan avoid being mounted?

Plunkett takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Hakan works his way to full guard. Good work. Plunkett won't allow Hakan to sweep him here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Plunkett stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hakan swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hakan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Plunkett defends well. Plunkett sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hakan's guard. Plunkett is trying to control the action in half guard but Hakan is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Hakan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Plunkett. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. That's five minutes gone in the round. Hakan has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Hakan is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Plunkett.
Plunkett has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Plunkett will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Plunkett controlling well, preventing Hakan from escaping the position.

Plunkett looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Hakan is squirming around, avoiding Plunkett's attempts to control the action. I would not like to be Hakan right now.

Plunkett is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Hakan knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Hakan for a finish. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hakan tries to break free.
