Carter tries to clinch but Brown is having none of it.

Carter shoots in for a double leg but Brown sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Brown avoids the head kick by Carter.
Brown throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Brown fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Carter to the ground. Brown is now in Carter's guard.
Carter on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Carter tries to get out of the position.

Brown wants to get up but he can't break Carter's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Carter is trying to control the position but Brown postures up.
Brown is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Brown turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Carter is looking to get back to his feet here but Brown is keeping cool and he's managed to take Carter's back.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Carter can't escape the position.
Brown just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
