and Hands counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Oh Deertay is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! and Hands counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Deertay off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Hands follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Deertay was out before he hit the floor.

Dirk doesn't seem phased though. Dirk connects with a good right hand that stumbles Deertay. Deertay circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Dirk swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Deertay takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Deertay takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Dirk misses the shot to the body. Deertay throws a hook but Dirk blocks it. Dirk throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Deertay throws a jab when Dirk was well out of range. Dirk lands with a nice body punch. Deertay shoots and misses and Dirk counters with a straight right hand. A swing and a miss from Deertay. Deertay's jab looks to have found its range, popping Champlain under the eye.#TD2# Deertay looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Deertay trying to control the pace. Champlain tries to get to full guard but Deertay has control of the leg. Deertay wants to pass to mount but Champlain is defending the position. Champlain misses with some strikes from the bottom.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Deertay has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Concrete throws a lazy right hand but Deertay sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.#TD2# Deertay closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Concrete did well to prevent Deertay getting side control.#SUB2# Deertay in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Concrete tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Deertay!

Deertay looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Deertay works over Stienis with some ground and pound from guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Deertay is pushing down on Stienis's leg trying to pass to half guard. Stienis is fighting to maintain full guard but Deertay has managed to sneak the leg through. Deertay seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Deertay can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Zulu looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Zulu keeping full guard, as Deertay tries to pass. Zulu throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
