Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Thermometer scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Thermometer tests Maddox's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Maddox uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Thermometer.
Some bone on bone action there as Thermometer checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Thermometer misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Maddox.
Maddox scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
We've been told by Thermometer's head coaches at Save America! TRUMP 2.0 !!! that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Thermometer dips to his left and cracks Maddox with an uppercut!
Thermometer fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Maddox manages to avoid it.
Maddox slips a straight right by Thermometer.
Thermometer lands an overhand right.
Thermometer cracks Maddox with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Maddox tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Thermometer pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Maddox is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rectal Thermometer!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maddox misses with an uppercut. Smith saw that one coming.
Smith lands with a good body shot.
Maddox looks to land a left hand but Smith moved out of range nicely.
A slow jab from Smith misses its intended target.
A big right from Maddox misses.
Smith lands with an overhand left.
Smith just misses with a punch to the body.
Smith throws a sloppy body shot
and Maddox counters with a stiff right hand.
Maddox ducks under a wild hook from Smith.
Maddox throws out a loose jab but Smith uses good head movement to avoid it.
A nice side step and Smith releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Smith's coach down at Savage Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Smith's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Smith fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Maddox slips under a jab.
Maddox walks straight into a right hand from Smith - that's dropped him! Smith jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Maddox from any more punishment! Maddox complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Clifford Smith!
After winning the bout, Clifford Smith thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.

Maddox throws an overhand right that lands on Ruckus's shoulder, as Ruckus tries to avoid the shot.
Maddox connects with a nice looking jab.
Maddox swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ruckus looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Maddox connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Maddox fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Ruckus is out of range.
Maddox ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
As Ruckus looks to move away, Maddox throws a big counter combo but Ruckus just gets out of the way.
Maddox feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Ruckuss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well Maddox has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
