The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Karelin throws a hook but Pitt blocks it.

Karelin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pitt looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Karelin controls the position.
Pitt wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
You can see the frustration on Pitt's face as Karelin controls the position.
Karelin wants to take a breather but Pitt manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Karelin.
Karelin is looking to pass into half guard but Pitt pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Pitt is in guard.#REVR#

Karelin trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Pitt wants to get up but he can't break Karelin's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Karelin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Karelin has his foot on Pitt's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pitt works his way back into a safe position though.
Pitt would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
