#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Magomedov was well out of range. Poor timing from Jones. Magomedov wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Jones tries to close the distance and clinch but Magomedov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Magomedov appears to be looking for a big counter. Jones shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Magomedov sprawls well. Magomedov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jones gets slowly back to his feet.#TD# Magomedov is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jones's half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Jones on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Strepnev fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Strepnev misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Horrible takedown attempt by Strepnev or perhaps it was just good defense by Magomedov, which made it look bad. Khalabib Magomedov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maxim Strepnev. Strepnev tries to clinch up. Strepnev is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Magomedov stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Magomedov wants it to stay on the feet. As Strepnev looks to move away, Magomedov throws a big counter combo but Strepnev just gets out of the way.#TD# Magomedov gets the takedown into side control. Magomedov tries to score with some ground and pound. Strepnev controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Strepnev tries to improve position but can't.
