Turner lands a lovely overhand right.#CUT#It looks like Skippy Johnson has been cut. We've been told by Turner's head coaches at Cozad The Island that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.#CL2# Johnson has taken the fight to the clinch.

Johnson defending well as Turner loads up on a big left hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson connects with an inside leg kick. Johnson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Jab, jab by Turner - just one landing. Turner feints with a jab and clips Johnson right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Johnson is sent crashing into the canvas and Turner leaps in for the kill! Johnson tries to get to his feet but Turner is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Johnson is in need of a savior and steps in!

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some wild striking there from Johnson.
Johnson throws a leg kick that is checked and Karlsson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Karlsson is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Karlsson misses with a wild combination.
Karlsson throws a right and a left that both miss. As Karlsson looks to move away, Johnson throws a big counter combo but Karlsson just gets out of the way. Karlsson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Karlsson works over Johnson's head and body with a nice combination.#CL# Johnson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Karlsson tries to break the clinch but Johnson is controlling the position. Johnson throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Karlssons head. This has been an exciting period of action!#BC# Johnson manages to break the clinch.
Karlsson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. #CL# Johnson clinches with his opponent.
#BC# Johnson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Johnson avoids a punch combination nicely.

Johnson keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Karlsson's efforts to push away. Karlsson is trying to drag Johnson to the mat but Johnson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Johnson just leaning against Karlsson, taking a breather. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. #T2# Nice elbow from Johnson. Karlsson is trying to force a seperation but Johnson has the dominant position. Johnson is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Johnson's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.#T3# The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Skippy Johnson.#CL# Karlsson gets tackled into the cage by Johnson. Johnson maintains the clinch. Johnson prevents Karlsson from breaking the clinch. Johnson misses with an elbow strike.

Johnson putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Karlsson in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Johnson lands a nice uppercut. Johnson scores with a hook to the body. Johnson shakes it off.#T4# Karlsson's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Karlsson duly obliges. Skippy Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Johnson moves to clinch but Karlsson breaks away and Karlsson counters with a stiff right hand. Johnson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Karlsson counters with a left and a right that stings Johnson. Johnson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Karlsson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Karlsson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.#CL# Johnson gets a clinch. Johnson's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Skippy Johnson will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.#R2# Karlsson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Johnson throws a nice inside leg kick. Johnson tries to clinch up and Karlsson counters with a one-two to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson closes the distance but Karlsson moves to the side #KD2# and Karlsson counters with a crisp one two that drops Johnson! Karlsson thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Johnson to his feet! Johnson is in big trouble!#ROC2#Johnson is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.#KD2# Karlsson catches Johnson napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Johnson to the canvas!
Oh Johnson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!#SU2# Karlsson stands up from Johnson's guard - Karlsson perhaps looking for a knockout. #T1# Karlsson lands with a big right hook that stumbles Johnson - he's out on his feet here! Karlsson follows up with another monster hook that separates Johnson from consciousness! Johnson falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Karlsson stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Sven Karlsson! Sven Karlsson spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant. |
